Mission Statement

The Sandusky County Sanitary Engineer's Office was established by the Board of County Commissioners in 1975 to provide sanitary sewer and water services to residents of Sandusky County.

Our mission is to provide the best possible service at reasonable costs to each of our customers. This means acting quickly and efficiently to solve problems and answer complaints, and to maintain the facilities in the best possible condition by utilizing just and honest principles.

UPCOMING HOLIDAY CLOSINGS:  

The office will be closed all day for Martin Luther King Jr. Day on January 20, 2025 (Monday) and Presidents' Day on February 17, 2025 (Monday).

 

RATE INCREASES:

For all customers that have City of Fremont Treatment as part of your sanitary sewer utility bill, the City of Fremont raised the treatment charge effective January 1, 2025.

The Sanitary Engineers are hiring the following:

(1) Engineer In Training or Utilities Manager (Depending on applicant qualifications)

(2) Operator 2 or Operator 1 or Operator In Training (Depending on applicant qualifications)

UPCOMING PROJECTS: 

1.  The Sanitary Engineers is working with Thomas Porter Architects of Toledo, Ohio for Architectural Services for future building renovations. Preliminary layouts are currently being developed for the existing building where the Sanitary Engineers is located.

2.  The Sanitary Engineers is working with ms consultants of Columbus, Ohio on a General Plan for the Rice Township Water Improvements.  The General Plan has been submitted to the Ohio EPA for their review.
